Course Overview

This course is designed to enhance the skills of door supervisors while ensuring consumer protection.

The qualification is tailored for individuals who already hold a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence as Door Supervisors and need to meet the new licence-linked qualifications requirements. It helps them fulfill the mandatory refresher requirements and maintain their SIA licence.

Entry Requirements

  1. Learners must be 18 years or older.
  2. A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence is required.
  3. Learners must hold a current first aid qualification.
  4. A valid first aid certificate, such as Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for at least 12 months from the course start date, must be provided.

Course Structure & Content

Our SIA Security Officer training consists of four stages:

Self-Study
Theoretical Knowledge – Delivered face-to-face.
Practical Assessment – Conducted face-to-face.
Multiple-Choice Examination (MCQ)

The Door Supervisor Refresher Course includes the following units:

Unit 1: Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)

Unit 2: Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)
Assessment & Examination

Theory:

Assessment is conducted via a multiple-choice question (MCQ) exam consisting of 35 questions to be completed in 55 minutes.
Exams are conducted under supervised conditions to ensure security and fairness.
A minimum score of 32 out of 40 (71%) is required to pass.

Practical:

Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in physical intervention techniques and conflict handling.
Both theory and practical assessments must be passed to achieve certification.

Examination Resits

We offer a NO PASS – NO RETAKE FEE policy, allowing one free re-take if the initial attempt is unsuccessful. Exam results are provided within 7 to 14 working days.

SIA Examination Requirements

 What You Must Bring

To participate in the course and examination, you must bring:

  • Two passport-sized, high-quality color photographs meeting passport standards. The photos should show no headgear (unless for religious reasons) or sunglasses.

One item from Group A and two items from Group B.

Group A

  1. A signed, current, and valid passport.
  2. A photocard driving license and its paper counterpart issued by the DVA in Northern Ireland.
  3. A photocard driving license issued by the DVLA in the UK.
  4. A UK original birth certificate issued within 12 months of birth.
  5. A UK biometric residence permit card.

Group B

  1. A bank or building society statement from the last 3 months. (Two statements are acceptable if issued by different banks or building societies.)
  2. A utility bill from the last 3 months (acceptable types include gas, electric, telephone landline, water, satellite TV, or cable TV bills, but not mobile phone bills).
  3. A valid UK firearms license with a photo.
  4. A signed, valid UK paper driving license.
  5. A marriage or civil partnership certificate, with a translation if not in english.
  6. A P45 or P60 tax statement issued within the last 12 months.
  7. A second bank or building society statement issued to your current address within the last 3 months.
  8. A mortgage statement issued within the last 12 months.
  9. A pension, endowment, or ISA statement issued within the last 12 months.
  10. A letter from HM Revenue & Customs, the Department for Work and Pensions, Employment Service, or a local authority issued within the last 3 months. Multiple letters are allowed if issued by different government departments or local authorities.
  11. A credit card statement sent to your current address within the last 3 months. Multiple statements are acceptable if issued by different providers.
  12. A second credit card statement from a different provider.
  13. A Council Tax statement issued within the last 12 months. 
  14. A child benefit book issued within the last 12 months.

Important Note
Failure to bring valid, original identification and the required photographs as specified will result in your removal from the course and the inability to take the examination.
